If you're single, have likely found yourself in some derpy (aka weird, awkward, dumb) situations while trying to navigate church culture. Let's be honest. It can feel like nobody knows how to talk to you like you're a human person. Whether it's knowing where to sit, or that random old lady who tells you “I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding someone special,” or that God will bring you your Boaz/Proverbs 31 woman when you’re content in your singleness, it's tricky to know how to respond. If you're like me, when these situations are so common, it can start to feel like we're the derpy ones.

Relatable and not bogged down with repeat cliches. We’ve all heard those before and in this book, Mary B welcomes a Christian single with open arms (and a hug, if theres consent!). Wish I had this back in college.

FINALLY. Someone is putting words to the experience of being unmarried in a marriage-obsessed church. And who better than Mary B, who brings her wit *and* love for the church to every page.

Smart, entertaining, and super readable, this book demystifies why the church feels a little broken in its pursuit to love singles well—and how that can change.

All the things I never knew I needed to know about interacting with my single friends. While admittedly I’m not the target reader (I’m married with a couple of kids), I eagerly read Mary B’s book, grateful for the insight she was giving into other people’s experience. Whether you are single or know people who are (okay, if you’re a human!), then do yourself a favor and read this book!
